The Culture of Sex in American Comic Books
RantYou know what I'm really sick of seeing on DA? The copious amounts of prportion-exagerated females. Really? I mean really, is your male chauvanistic brain so deeply imbedded in your penis that you feel the need to create MASSIVE breasts and impossible waist lines to serve your masoginistic will? It fucking pissing me off! I know that I will stereotyped as the 'ugly chick' for complainging. That real desirable women are what these sex-depraved lunatics are drawing, and I'm just jealous that my breasts aren't that big. Jealous? Jealous because I'm not an object of pure sexual desire? How could I possibly be jealous of that? I am so fucking tired of looking at american comics because the women are all FREAKS! Unless she is an alien (in which case its totally plausible to have whatever anatomy you want) women that can fight really well, or are super strong are NOT built like gorgeous runway models. They are large, or often times lacking in large breasts.
OH and also, WHY is it necissary to have female super heroes wearing thongs when decapitating demons or otherwise kicking buts?! Is it THAT necissary to turn everything into sex? Why the super tight clothes? Why the ridiculous high heeled boots?! Why does she have to have (exucse my language) suck-a-dick lips? Why can't she just lok normal? Is the world really full of natural Pam Andersons walking around? Is the comic book fan base really so depraved that this is their ideal woman? And don't even bother coming at me with "but they're also hot because they're so strong and courageous." BULLSHIT. You look at their tits and ass first, that's why women are drawn that way. And guess what? That's why so many comic book fans are sexist slobs who resort to playing with their action figures to get their dick satisfied. I know a few comic book readers who ARE NOT sexist pigs too! Which is why it confounds me every time I see 'Red Sonja' or Wonder Woman drawn the way they are drawn.
Why can't more artist draw like Pia Guerra?? She make me cry with happiness because her art is real. Am i so warped that I like women in long sleeved shirts shooting people? OR god forbid full length jeans?! or SNEAKERS!?!?!?! No one wants to see a woman in regular clothes! That isn't sexy enough. And if it isn't sexy enough we won't make a profit.
Go fuck yourselves. We think we've come SO far in sexual equality, and really we've just glorified the prostitute (she should only DRESS like that, and only fuck "ME" otherwise she's just a stupid slut)
I'm so fucking angry right now I want to puke.
And its not like there aren't smoking hot women out there! They exist, and I like seeing them because they are like, unrealisticly hot. But the majority of women, of PEOPLE, are not greek gods. WHY does every picture of every woman in comic books have to be so god damn sexist?
(and btw I realize some anime is just as bad if not worse!)
So to those comic fans who are ravenous sex-ed up junkies, thank you for demoralizing me daily, and every other normal woman out there. We put ourselves through shit, hell and back to try to live up to your fucking jacked off expectations, while you are content to be slack-jawed fat disgusting pigs with tiny dicks.
To the comic fans who are respectable, kind peope, you know what I say is true, and the above stereotype dominates your market. I realize not all of you are this way, and maybe even the majority of you are not this way, but your entertainment is still created to please those fans. So do something about it.
And I'm dating a comic addict. He's not like this at all. His friends aren't really either! So there is hope, women of the world, there is hope.

But in the defense of Anime, the majority of women are idealized for being 'cute' heroines, which is much better than the majority of women in comic books. Take the anime I've shown you for instance; those women are shown to be modest, good people, who are cute and pretty. That's a much more realistic goal than "FUCK she's hot!!" Although there are plenty of big boob anime out there too.. sigh.
The majority of sexist stuff however I think is found in the American comic scene.

Comics, especially in the case of super heroes, are an exaggeration of real life, so artists take things that are considered attractive in the mainstream and exaggerate them in the same way.
I can certainly understand being a little upset about it, because for the most part it's ridiculous, but for the same reason that almost every single male character is 'attractive' (in the ways that a male should be attractive according to popular culture, i.e. square jaws, broad shoulders, chiseled musculature, etc.), the same holds true for female characters.
